Developing inclusive education systems: inspiration for the Netherlands from six pioneer countries

The International Supervision Scan of Inclusive Education describes how various countries ensure that every child – with or without additional support needs – can truly participate in education. In this study, the Dutch Inspectorate of Education examined how six countries – Estonia, New Zealand, Portugal, Sweden, Tyrol (Austria), and Italy – design, develop, and supervise inclusive education.

The findings provide valuable insights for Dutch education policy, practice, and inspection in the implementation of inclusive education. The Inspectorate has produced a concise inspiration document to help guide discussions among relevant stakeholders.
